Aneel Ahmad’s “Checkpost”, one of the best thought provoking films we have screened at this year’s Kino Shorts nights in Manchester. Aneel once again excel’s himself in this very fine and honest snapshot of life in Pakistan, capture’s the attention and will keep the viewer on the end of their seat. “CHECKPOST” is a affecting and effective short film by film maker Aneel Ahmad. Although a short, it packs a powerful punch , tense ,absorbing and compassionate , it deals with important issues of the day. Set against the background of 300 drone attacks on Pakistan by the US and a highly volatile situation there, it tells the story of a British film maker shot in Lahore and a lorry driver and his young son who put their lives at risk to help.
