THE REFLECTION

A quiet bond forms between Nadeem a grief-stricken food delivery worker and Margret a middle-aged woman recovering from abandonment. As illness, memory, and time weigh down on them, both search for fleeting moments of connection in an indifferent world.

In an age of noise, The Reflection gives space to listen. In an era of spectacle, it honours the quietly broken. It’s a story for anyone who’s loved too late, lost too often, or lived without being fully seen.

We would like to thank you all for the heartfelt comments for ‘Her My Voice’ By showing our appreciation. We will post your comments on here in no particular order. Thank you for supporting and watching our short film aneel ahmad Films

Raindance Hermyvoice Kind regards

“Her My Voice” is a powerful and moving documentary that illustrates the discrimination and difficulties that transgender people and those with disabilities deal with on a daily basis. The fact that it is set in a developing country also makes it evocative, as people in these countries have so many added challenges. This kind of film would not be out of place on mainstream television. I hope more people get to see it.

“Her My Voice” is an engaging, insightful and extremely moving story. It’s a story about Komal, a transgender dancer’s heartfelt attempt at expressing affection and striving to win over her father’s love. Komal lives in a world where she has been constantly rejected for being her authentic self. It’s a bold film that truly makes you want to understand, empathize and fight for the equality of all humans to be who they truly are, because in the end, the only thing that really matters is our capacity to give and receive love.

“Her My Voice” made me cry. I loved my father, and he just passed away a few months ago, and i have not been able to express myself to anyone, even when my father was alive. My parents were separated. My own story is too long. The scene of Komal holding her fathers hand, genuinely moved me. I can relate, I held my fathers hand for hours, while he was laying there unconscious in hospital. I rubbed his hands and did not want to let go. Not knowing that he even felt my touch and I was there. As a child I never got to see my father much as I wanted, and if he loved me, I would of loved him 10 times more. . When I was a kid I would hold the presents my father would give me, next to my pillow close to me and cry my eyes out. “Her My Voice” story about a daughters lost relationship and father has touched me profoundly. It’s a beautiful and emotional story about a Transgender woman, who lost her relationship with her father.

Oh Lord… now I’ve gone and ruined my make up watching this. I had a hard time finding the right words to write about this short film Aneel Ahmad has again miraculously packed a lifetime of perfectly relatable experience, meaning and emotion into a film you can watch all before you finish a cup of coffee (be sure to get your tissues BEFORE you start to watch it though). How does he do that? As “an old woman in poor health” suffering in poverty myself, having one child permanently gone from this earth, and another long incommunicado, and as someone feeling the pain of loneliness of permanent separations from so many loved ones who have passed on or who have become estranged or others lost because of misunderstandings or ignorance, I understand isolation. So many in our world suffer this pain today – especially in this pandemic – that even as we struggle on our obstacle-ridden paths through this life, we learn there is nothing more powerful than the human company of unconditional love and genuine caretaking, in whatever form that may be. Aneel has used a unique style to tell HER Komal a (transgender) dancers story in a way that pierces through to your heart and any ignorance you may be holding on to. This is a must watch!

Her My Voice Set in the city of Lahore, Pakistan, Her My Voice is the new short film from visionary director Aneel Ahmad. While there is the odd political aspect to the short that you may find upsetting, mainly how middle eastern countries still treat LGBT people, Her My Voice is not an angry film, rather it is a sweet, tender and moving piece of filmmaking that gives the audience a look at a world and lifestyle that they may not be familiar with. It’s a story of love and how the bond between a parent and child remains strong no matter what obstacles are put in their way. Her My Voice is a powerful film that without being preachy, asks you important and difficult questions about love, life and discrimination. An important film that will distress, and move you all at the same time, as you experience a number of conflicting emotions while watching a 7-minute short film.

‘Her My Voice’ is a touching short film created by Aneel Ahmad. Set in the city of Lahore, Pakistan, telling the story of a Transgender woman Komal. It shows both the heartfelt struggle of gender identity and political problems, of which viewers will feel strongly towards throughout. One thing that stood out to me is how there are two voices, both male and female speaking together in harmony though out, giving an important message to be yourself, no matter what we are all the same. Sadly in Komal’s case it comes at a struggle for her. I was immersed from start to finish from Komal’s story. She is truly an inspirational and this film very cleverly takes you on the journey through her life in such a short period. Another fantastic film once again!

“Her My Voice is an Amazing short film moved me to tears. Simply beautiful. In this day and age discrimination should be history. It’s sad that we allow what bigots in society think of us. Many in the world suffer from this abuse and it’s very sad.
